The entered contract price is below estimated monthly cost before any pricing buffer.

  • Illustrative recurring bid for Illustrative office contract. Labor minutes are multiplied by square footage and visits, then travel hours are added per visit.
  • Burden is applied to wages at 118.0% of base wage. Overhead is a monthly allocation entered by the operator.
  • Crew-size planning equivalent is 55.40 crew-hours per month; this does not promise a schedule or productivity standard.
  • Actual margin uses the entered contract price and actual labor hours while holding supplies, travel, and overhead at the estimate.

Know the boundaries

  • Production rates and costs are operator-entered assumptions, not market benchmarks or guaranteed staffing times.
  • The actual-margin view holds supplies, travel, and overhead at the estimate; enter a revised scope to model changes.
  • This is not payroll, tax, employment, contract, or legal advice and does not create a proposal or customer signature.

Examples are illustrative. Results depend on the assumptions and measurements you enter.

Method, not guesswork

A recurring bid is easier to audit when area scope, visit frequency, labor production, payroll burden, travel, supplies, and overhead stay visible. This worksheet calculates a target price and then compares a measured labor month to the same contract price.

Common questions

How are area hours calculated?

Each area uses square feet, minutes per 1,000 square feet, and monthly visits, then the engine adds travel hours per visit across the scope.

What does payroll burden affect?

The entered burden percentage increases wage cost before the tool adds supplies, travel cash cost, and the monthly overhead allocation.

Why enter actual labor hours?

Actual hours let you compare the fixed contract price with a measured month while keeping the other estimated costs visible for review.
